School Age and Adult Classes
4 Years to Adult
Dance for fun and fitness or dance towards your ISTD exams.
Classes follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz Syllabi. Each class combines the dance genres to give children the chance to study all three genres without the expense of having to attend three individual classes a week. In preparation for students wishing to take their examination, classes are then tailored towards focusing on one genre.
All classes are based on the examination syllabi as these ensure continuous progression. However, examinations are not compulsory and children who do not wish to take them are also able to progress through the levels with their friends.
ISTD graded and vocational exams are recognised by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). The examination structure of the ISTD is designed to cater equally for those who wish to progress to making dance their profession and for those pursuing dance for enjoyment.
Parents are invited to observe classes at the end of term where students can show their technical achievements.
